Reflection on NL Modules

Module 1: Testing and Remediation

In this module, I learned all about test taking including strategy tips on how to prepare for a test, strategies on how to take a test, how to navigate different formats of testing, and much more. The module even gave several teaching points about how to take the NCLEX and how to navigate through those questions that require a different type of thinking. As a junior college student who has already taken many tests and exams, this module still gave me a lot of insight on how to prepare for my future tests, and helped me realize some wrong test taking habits I have. These new test taking skills can be applied to my studies and thus can be integrated into the nursing culture. As I said earlier, this module included teachings about NCLEX style questions. To be a nurse, I will have to take and pass my NCLEX and with these new tips and tricks from ATI, it can somewhat help me integrate me into the nursing profession.

Module 2: Nursing Concepts

This module, “Nursing Concepts” taught me basic nursing skills that I have been slowly introduced to already this past year in Introduction to Nursing. Some main ideas that were discussed in this module that I learned was how to give client centered care, how to advocate for patients, how to give proper client education, what professionalism looks like in the hospital, how to display leadership as a nurse, and collaboration between the interprofessional teams. All of these learning points that were made throughout the module are incredibly applicable to my student learning. To be a great nurse I will have to not only display these skills in my work setting everyday, but I will have to master them to show my competency. Nursing is a huge responsibility that requires all kinds of skills, and I believe that these nursing concepts will help me integrate with the nursing culture.

  1. Jennie, what a beautiful site! Nice job with the reflections. I am glad that the first module gave you some new testing/studying insights even given your background. Caring for patients is a huge responsibility and each of the concepts will be reviewed in a number of courses from a variety of perspectives, all to help you with the nursing culture.
